If you miss the wild mood of 70s and 80s parties like the ones at Studio54 in New York where Bianca Jagger entered on a horse, Chris von Wangenheim is definitely your piece of cake. Courageous, talented, erotically provocative, he shot some of the best (and scandalous) images of the epoch.

Chris was German, born un 1942 at war-time Berlin. He started from studying a bit of architecture, but already at 23 he decided to follow his interest in photography and moved to New York in 1965. He opened his own studio there just in a year.

One of his favourite models of those times was the famous and damned Gia Carangi, first shot by him in 1978.

I’m always on hunt for new hip places that make my eye travel. Places that can tell about the trends in design and interior, showing the new ideas and the most coveted products of the moment. Here’s my list of best design spaces to visit in Milan.

Rossana Orlandi is an incredibly stylish woman with a background in fashion who was a pioneer in the concept of design galleries in Italy. She opened her space in 2002 in a former tie Factory in the cool Magenta district, and soon became the biggest trendsetter in the world of art, design and decor.

Dimorestudio’s founders Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci are the coolest cats in town. Their architectural and design studio operates since 2003, creating the interiors of hotels and restaurants, boutiques and private apartments all over the world.
