How can you know what your limits are if you’ve never pushed them? This quote is good not only for encouraging you to find your own limitations, if you have any, but also for testing the limits of what is possible out in the world. Sitting by and thinking you have limits without actually finding out if you do or not is akin to the story of how an elephant won’t try to break the simple rope that ties him down because as a baby they chained him up with a heavy chain. How many limits do you put on yourself that aren’t even real?
If you want to get better at anything, you have to accept change. Change is a natural and beautiful process that leads to growth both internally and externally. Without that change, you would become stagnant and stale. Stop holding on to the status quo, that’s not achieving anything.
It does not matter how expensive or luxurious your possessions are if you have done nothing to earn them. Having great things means nothing if you haven’t earned them. The feeling of working hard andearning something will always trump the feeling of being handed something.
If you listen closely to groups of people talk, you may hear many of them all complaining together. Misery does love company, right? Complaining is small thinking, but being positive is grand. Offer some kind of positive outlook on the topic, or offer a solution and see how that makes you feel.
Life is a journey, but let’s not get lost in travel. Instead, you must focus on what is within you. The journey of life will change you and unlock what is inside of you. As you evolve during the journey, you have to be sure that all of the changes you are making are positive. Don’t allow missteps in the journey be permanent.
If you want to be better than everyone else, start to do what they are not doing. You will not become greater than them by doing exactly what they are doing. That will do you no good and only keep you below them. Learn how to be different and think outside the box.
Think about a time when you had a project that excited you. Do you remember the motivation that made it easy to get out of the bed in the morning so you could work on it? Do you recall the passion and happiness you felt? To be successful, find more of that passion.
When things happen “to” you, you feel helpless and victimized. However, if you look at things as happening “for” you, then you take some of your power back. This allows you to look at the lessons and blessings (a.k.a. silver linings) within anything you might experience.
As you build your self-image and confidence at the beginning of your journey to success, you will be more prepared to handle the attention and spotlight that will come once you achieve it. Knowing that you are worth success makes handling it much easier.
They say that some rules are made to be broken, and still others are made to be bent. She’s not saying that you should break the law, but our society has so many rules put in place that if you conform to them all you might have a bland and vanilla time here. Find out which rules are getting in the way of some good clean fun, and test the boundaries. Life isn’t about staying within the lines, it’s about doing what you want without getting in the way of others doing what they want.
