You don’t have to look everywhere to find your chance. Sometimes it’s hard to see how this place we are stuck can be the opportunity we were looking for in the first place. You have to learn to bloom in the place you’ve been planted, like a resilient and beautiful flower.
Those seeds that you plant today, right now, you will harvest later. If you continue to wait for the right opportunity to plant those seeds, you are going to delay that harvest another week, month, year, or, worse yet, inevitably.
You have so much to give. If you keep it inside you, then you have not given the world what it has given you. You cannot be measured as a full person if you keep all of you to yourself. That’s selfish. Give back to the world and it will continue to give to you.
Start today by doing the things that must be done. Maybe you are trying to launch a business, or maybe you’re just trying to get organised. Either way, the first steps are the first steps. Take this opportunity to lay the groundwork. Then, you can stretch yourself. Before you know it, you’ll be doing things that you never thought possible.
When things happen “to” you, you feel helpless and victimized. However, if you look at things as happening “for” you, then you take some of your power back. This allows you to look at the lessons and blessings (a.k.a. silver linings) within anything you might experience.
The most important aspect of change is that it starts within. If we only focus on outward change, then we will always be discouraged, confused, and even lost. If we allow those outward changes to bring opportunity, we can grow through them and become even stronger. Don’t be afraid to change.
If anyone knows about this, it’s Albert. Every single challenge you face has something in it that is of value to you, should you choose to see it. It goes along with the saying about every cloud having a silver lining. Learn and grow from your troubles and you will only be empowered because of it.
Even the most seemingly insignificant beings can make quite a difference to someone. Everyone you come into contact with gives you an opportunity to make a difference. Get off the couch and go make one today. Get started, work hard, and the differences you make in your life and that of others will only grow.
We have little control over the circumstances around us. We are limited to seeking new employment, ending a relationship, dwelling on something or someone we’ve lost, or some other forfeiture. Instead, we must look at what we do have control over. We must go within and approach change as an opportunity for personal growth.
Covey is an expert on leadership. He knows that the only things in life are these three categories. You have your principles that come from deep within you which you must discover for yourself. Then you have choices to make. Each choice can lead you down a particular path which gives you the opportunity to grow and change.
