Learn to value yourself, which means: fight for your happiness – Ayn Rand

When you value yourself you are less likely to let others devalue you. Standing up for yourself takes pure self love and it means that you will do whatever it takes for your own happiness. This might mean moving out of state, or leaving a relationship. Whatever it is, you deserve it.

  1. Nice post, thought provoking. One of my fav poems is Desiderata… I’ve always liked this line:

“As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.”

I think the “without surrender” echoes the gist of your post. The moment you know you’re being asked to cave is the moment to say goodbye 😎

  2. This post is so perfect. Just the heading itself is beautifully written, even if it is written by someone else. I really needed to read that. You see, I don’t really like the way I look. I don’t think I’m very beautiful. My siblings have always called me ” The ugly one ” and now I can’t seem to shake the feeling that they’re right. But reading this, it helped me see that other peoples opinions shouldn’t matter more than my own. I need to think of myself beautifully, before others can. Thank you so much!
