Cote d’Azur 2022: Best Places to Travel with a Friend

Luxurious yachts, rivers of champagne, the azure sea and the beauties were sung by Fitzgerald — it is impossible not to fall in love with Cote d’Azur. That’s where I went!

You can get to the Cote d’Azur from Paris by car or by TGV train. High-speed trains run regularly and pass almost all major cities. The train from Paris to Marseille takes 3.5 hours, to Nice — just over 5 hours.

Доехать на Лазурный Берег из Парижа можно на своем авто или на поезде TGV. Скоростные составы ходят регулярно и проезжают почти все крупные города. Поезд из Парижа в Марсель идет 3,5 часа, в Ниццу — чуть больше 5 часов.

First of all, I went to Monte Carlo, Monaco. For lunch, my friend and I went to the Brasserie du Cafe de Paris Monte-Carlo, from the terrace of which there is a beautiful view of the main square of the city. A tourist cafe with a 150-year history is a kind of visiting card of Monaco.

Первым делом я отправилась в Монте-Карло, Монако. Пообедать мы с подругой зашли в Brasserie du Cafe de Paris Monte-Carlo, с террасы которого открывается прекрасный вид на главную площадь города. Туристическое кафе со 150-летней историей является своего рода визитной карточкой Монако.

If you like parties, be sure to check out Buddha-Bar — this is a party place, but with very decent Japanese and Asian cuisine. It’s noisy, crowded and fun. If you don’t want to spoil your vacation with a long wait, I recommend booking a table in advance. You can also visit the Twiga club for a memorable party.

Если вы любите вечеринки, обязательно загляните в Buddha-Bar — это тусовочное место, но с весьма приличной японской и азиатской кухней. Здесь шумно, многолюдно и весело. Если не хотите испортить отдых долгим ожиданием, рекомендую бронировать столик заранее. Также для запоминающейся вечеринки можно посетить клуб Twiga.

After the party, I recommend to spend the day in the small coastal town of Cap d’Ail — it is five minutes from Monaco by train. I advise everyone to take the train, because parking there is very difficult. Here we rested on Plage Mala, after which we returned back to Monaco.

После шумной вечеринки самое время провести день в маленьком прибрежном городке Кап-д’Ай — он находится в пяти минутах езды от Монако на поезде. Всем советую брать поезд, потому что с парковкой там очень сложно. Здесь мы отдыхали на Plage Mala, после чего вернулись назад в Монако.

In Monaco, I visited two very impressive cultural events — an exhibition of works by Helmut Newton and an exhibition of L’Exhibitionniste Christian Louboutin. The masterpieces of two incredibly talented artists from the world of photography and fashion are very inspiring. After viewing Newton’s work, I had a dream: to do everything so that someday my photographs would also be honoured to be exhibited to the large audience.

В Монако я посетила два очень впечатливших меня культурных мероприятия — выставку работ Хельмута Ньютона и выставку L’Exhibitionniste Christian Louboutin. Шедевры двух невероятно талантливых художников из мира фотографии и моды очень вдохновляют. После просмотра работ Ньютона у меня и вовсе появилась мечта: сделать все, чтобы когда-то мои фотографии тоже удостоились чести быть выставленными на широкую публику.

The next point on the map is the resort of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Among the local beaches, I advise you to give preference to Plage de Passable — this is a wonderful beach in the west of the peninsula, which offers amazing views of the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer. And the location of the beach allows you to sunbathe in the sun almost all day! The only problem you may have here is the difficulty of parking a car during the season.

Среди местных пляжей советую отдать предпочтение Plage de Passable — это чудесный пляж на западе полуострова, откуда открывается изумительный вид на залив Вильфранш-сюр-Мер. А местоположение пляжа позволяет загорать на солнце практически целый день! Единственная проблема, которая может возникнуть у вас здесь — сложности с парковкой машины в сезон.

There is also a scenic road that connects the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat with the Plage de Passable. Walking along this road takes about an hour. For joggers, there is no better location for doing sport!

Здесь также есть живописная дорога, которая соединяет Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat с Plage de Passable. Прогулка по этой дороге занимает где-то час. Для любителей бега лучше локации для пробежки не найти!

The next day we went to the Anao Plage Beaulieu beach, which is located between Nice and Monaco — in the commune of Beaulieu-sur-Mer. On the territory there is a restaurant with chic lobster tagliatelle, veal tartare and delicious lemon pie. The service here is excellent — the owner of the establishment personally monitors the order, so everything here is at the highest level.

На другой день мы отправились на пляж Anao Plage Beaulieu, который расположен между Ниццей и Монако — в коммуне Болье-сюр-Мер. На территории расположен ресторан с шикарным тальятелле с лобстера, телячий тартар и вкуснейший лимонный пирог. Сервис здесь отличный — сам хозяин заведения лично следит за порядком, так что все здесь на высшем уровне.

And once in Nice, we could not pass by the La Petite Maison restaurant. I advise you to order shrimp and local cheese here. Also delicious are tuna carpaccio, artichoke salad, lobster pasta and beef tenderloin with foie gras. Even though I don’t usually wear heels on vacation, this evening I wanted to come here in the new Bottega Veneta. Why not — in Nice every day is a holiday!

И уже оказавшись в Ницце мы не смогли пройти мимо ресторана La Petite Maison. Советую заказывать здесь креветки и местный сыр. Очень вкусные также карпачо из тунца, салат из артишока, паста с омаром и вырезка говядины с фуа-гра. Хоть я обычно не ношу каблуки на отдыхе, в этот вечер мне захотелось прийти сюда в новых Bottega Veneta. Почему бы и нет — в Ницце каждый день праздник!

Normandie Magnifique: sightseeings, beaches and local cuisine

Unique nature, excellent cuisine, authentic ancient architecture… And it’s only a three-hour drive from Paris.
It is impossible not to fall in love with Normandy!
First of all, I went to Deauville, an elite seaside resort in Lower Normandy, located on the coast of the English Channel. It has long been chosen by the French cinema bohemia — Isabelle Adjani, Catherine Deneuve, Vanessa Paradis and Jean-Paul Belmondo rested here at different times. Even Coco Chanel opened one of her first boutiques here.

Его с давних времен облюбовала французская кино-богема — здесь в разные времена отдыхали Изабель Аджани, Катрин Денёв, Ванесса Паради и Жан-Поль Бельмондо. А Коко Шанель открыла здесь один из своих первых бутиков.
You can get to this aristocratic city with chic architecture from Paris in 3 hours by car. You can rent it at the airport. The road is quite comfortable. The only thing is that there is a lot of traffic on weekends, because many Parisians go to Normandy for a lazy holiday.

Добраться в этот аристократичный город с шикарной архитектурой с Парижа можно за 3 часа на машине. Можно арендовать ее в аэропорту. Дорога достаточно удобная. Единственное, в выходные дни возможен большой трафик, потому что многие парижане отправляются в Нормандию на ленивый отдых.
We stayed at the historic hotel Le Normandy, one of the most interesting on the coast. It often stops the stars of the film festival taking place in this city. The refined interiors of the rooms are decorated with impeccable taste: floral fabrics, elegant upholstered furniture, paintings in wooden frames. There is also an excellent SPA and a wonderful restaurant of traditional French cuisine, where eminent pianists play in the evenings.
Мы остановились в историческом отеле Le Normandy, одном из самых интересных на побережье. В нем зачастую останавливаются звезды проходящего в этом городе кинофестиваля. Изысканные интерьеры номеров оформлены с безупречным вкусом: ткани с цветочным рисунком, изящная мягкая мебель, картины в деревянных рамах. Также здесь отличный SPA и прекрасный ресторан традиционной французской кухни, где по вечерам играют именитые пианисты.
Horse lovers will find something to do here. For example, when we were in the city, SOTHEBY’S INTERNATIONAL REALTY CSIO DEAUVILLE was just taking place there. You can also visit horse auctions, play polo or simply rent a horse for an unforgettable walk along the beaches.
Любителям лошадей здесь будет чем заняться. К примеру, когда мы были в городе, там как раз проходил SOTHEBY’S INTERNATIONAL REALTY CSIO DEAUVILLE. Также можно посетить аукционы по продаже лошадей, поиграть в поло или просто взять лошадь напрокат, чтобы совершить незабываемую прогулку по пляжам.
From Deauville we went to Trouville, a small town with a pretty little port and cool locations for a promenade. You should definitely look there to try the local champagne and feast on oysters.
С Довиля мы отправились в Трувиль — маленький город с симпатичным небольшим портом и классными локациями для променада. Туда обязательно стоит заглянуть, чтобы попробовать местное шампанское и полакомиться устрицами.
To change the view, we went to another town nearby. Honfleur is one of the most atmospheric and colorful towns in Normandy. Its picturesque bay is surrounded by old half-timbered houses. Once there was a brisk trade with the New World, and today snow-white yachts and fishing boats slowly rock on the waves.
Чтобы сменить обстановку мы поехали в еще один городок неподалеку. Онфлёр — один из самых атмосферных и колоритных городков Нормандии. Его живописная бухта окружена старинными фахверковыми домиками. Когда-то здесь шла бойкая торговля с Новым Светом, а сегодня неспешно качаются на волнах белоснежные яхты и рыбацкие лодки.
Of course, a trip to Normandy would not be complete without a visit to Etretat. Here is a chic mountain with slopes, which Monet repeatedly depicted on his canvases. Seeing this beauty live is a must!
Very late sunsets of incredible beauty in Normandy. So, plan to stay by the water until sunset — a romantic date is guaranteed!
Конечно, путешествие по Нормандии не было бы полноценным без посещения Этреты. Здесь расположена шикарная гора со склонами, которую неоднократно изображал на своих полотнах Клод Моне. Увидеть эту красоту вживую стоит обязательно! (Вверху — К. Моне. Etretat, Sunset. 1883)
В Нормандии очень поздние закаты невероятной красоты. Так что запланируйте задержаться у воды до захода солнца — романтическое свидание вам обеспечено!
A must-see in Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel Abbey is an hour’s drive from Deauville. This is an ancient fortress with a very beautiful view. You can get there by car, leave it in the parking lot and there are free shuttles from the parking lot that run every half an hour.
Обязательное к посещению место в Нормандии — аббатство Мон-Сен-Мишель, находится в дух часах езды на машине от Довиля. Это древняя крепость с очень красивым видом. Туда можно добраться на машине оставить ее на парковке и от парковки есть бесплатные шаттлы, которые ходят раз в пол часа.
For lunch here, we went to Les Terrasses de la Baie restaurant. Although the service there is a little lame, we were pleased with the beautiful view that opens from the panoramic windows and delicious cuisine.
На обед здесь мы зашли в ресторан Les Terrasses de la Baie. Хоть сервис там немного и хромает, мы остались довольны прекрасным видом, который открывается из панорамных окон, и вкусной кухней.
On the way back to Deauville, we visited another important attraction — the historic D-day beaches, where there are museums related to the landings and the Battle of Normandy during World War II. There are memorials, as well as dugouts, trenches and aircraft guns, as well as tanks, boats and equipment used in battle.
По дороге обратно в Довиль мы посетили еще одну важную достопримечательность — исторические пляжи D-day, где работают музеи, связанные с высадкой и битвой за Нормандию времен Второй мировой войны. Там находятся мемориалы, а также сохранены блиндажи, окопы и авиационные пушки, танки, катера и другое оборудование, что использовались тогда в бою.

It`s worth noting that the temperature in this region is 10 degrees lower than in other cities of France. So, in July in Paris it was +35 °, and in Deauville — a maximum of +25 °, and in the evening it is much colder. So be sure to bring a jacket or sweater with you when you travel. And enjoy that place! After all, Normandy will not leave you without positive impressions.
Из важного еще стоит отметить, что температура в этом регионе градусов на 10 ниже, чем в других городах Франции. Так, в июле в Париже было +35 °, а в Довиле — максимум +25 °, а вечером гораздо холоднее. Так что в путешествие обязательно захватите с собой пиджак или свитер.
И наслаждайтесь! Уверена, без позитивных впечатлений Нормандия вас не отпустит.

One of the most iconic symbol of France, Mont Saint-Michel lies off the coast of lower Normandy as the country’s most famous and spectacular Benedictine abbey. The remarkable Gothic structure perched atop a small rocky island, together with its bay, fortifications, and tiny medieval village that surrounds it, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most visited French monument from outside Paris. The climb to the top can be quite difficult, but the delightful maze of cloisters, twisting staircases, gardens, and ramparts, along with the birds view make it more than worthwhile.

Monet’s House and Gardens in Giverny

Set in the small village of Giverny, only one hour drive from Paris, the fascinating House and Gardens of Monet are certainly not to be missed. The renowned impressionist painter bought the house in 1890, transformed it into his own corner of paradise, and spent nearly 43 years living and working in this oasis of nature and peace. At the end of the 19th century, the magnificent property, which inspired most of Monet’s paintings, was converted into a museum, and nowadays, it represents a major tourist attraction for both Monet’s fans and nature lovers.

Trouville and Deauville

Different, but equally enchanting, the cities of Trouville and Deauville are a must-see for all travellers willing to discover the true essence of Normandy. Described as “countryside by the sea”, Trouville sur Mer features a wonderful combination of art, beaches, and Belle Époque charm, making it an ideal quiet rest destination. On the other side, its decadent neighbor attracts visitors with its glamorous atmosphere and fancy events. Deauville is home to the American Film Festival and Deauville-La Touques Racecourse, being widely famous for its distinguished horse culture.

D-day Beaches

The scene of Operation Overlord, Normandy’s D-day beaches are, without doubt, one of France’s most important historic sites, and a major attraction in the region. Stretching along the English Channel, the beaches of Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold and Sword, along with the nearby cities comprise an area of extraordinary importance in the history of France and continental Europe. The area consists of almost 50 miles of French coastline peppered with magnificent museums, monuments, and cemeteries.

Château de Villandry garden of Love

While spring blooms and the sun activating  its signal for outdoor chill out , bbq and picnic joy !!! Was missing this time a long cold winter months ))) If you like greener time as much as i do you would love stumbled castle located in Villandry, France.

It has the magnificent gardens that were built for love — and even the French name jardin de l’amour sounds divinely romantic. Château de Villandry gardens have been called the most romantic and beautiful gardens in France.

There is a love story behind Love Garden and the entire estate was designed with romantic symbolism from the Renaissance era. The Villandry has three garden styles, a formal water garden, a 2-part ornamental garden with topiary hedges ripe with symbolism for love including for the “Garden of Love” and the “Garden of Music,” and a huge decorative kitchen garden (potager). The gardens of Château de Villandry are an UNESCO World Heritage Site. I haven’t  never seen anything like it.

In July there is an even more romantic reason to stroll through the Villandry due to Les Nuits des Mille Feux, meaning The Night of a Thousand Lights. 2,000 candles put out a romantic glow over the Château and gardens from sundown until after midnight. It’s not only a visual delight but audio as well since musicians playing Baroque music walk through the gardens. enjoy ❤

В то время как весна цветет и солнце активизируется – это  сигнал для чил аута на свежем воздухе, барбекю и радостям пикника!!! Скучала по этому долгие и  холодные зимние месяцы))) Если Вам нравится более зеленое время так же, как и мне тогдва вы  полюбите натолкнувшийся  мне замок, расположенный в Вилландри, Франция.

В нем есть великолепные сады, которые были построены для любви — и даже французское имя, jardin de l’amour кажется божественно романтичным. Сады Château de Villandry назвали самыми романтичными и красивыми садами во Франции.

Есть любовный роман позади Любовного Сада, и все  его состояние было разработано с романтичной символикой с ренессансной эры.

У Вилландри есть три стиля сада, формальный водный сад, декоративный сад с 2 частями с преградами фигурной стрижки кустов, готовыми с символикой из любви включая для “Сада Любви” и “Сада Музыки” и огромного декоративного огорода (potager). Сады Château de Villandry – объект Всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО. Я никогда не видела ничего подобного.

В июле есть еще более романтичная причина прогуляться через Вилландри из-за Les Nuits des Mille Feux, означая Ночь Тысячи Огней. 2,000 свечей производят романтичную яркость по Château и садам от заката до полуночи. Это не только визуальное восхищение, но и аудио также, так как музыканты, играющие Барочную музыку, идут через сады. Наслаждайтесь

Mariners escape

In a middle of the summer there are only talks about where u will go for holiday and what kind of vacanse it will be. Meanwhile week after week counting down the time that it rest to paradise we plan our escape. Every monday and wednesday i am trying to enrich my life with breeze of the  sea.  Way out of the situation- certainly – sea inspired dressing) what about geometrical stripes and prints ? Lets make our everyday life with mariners twist!!! With this thought i was cheered up and went for beautiful walk in park Valentino enjoying ancient fountain and amazing architecture. 

В середине лета все разговоры только о поездках на отдых и какого рода отдых это будет. Между тем неделя за  неделбю отсчитывая дни  которые остались по дороге в рай мы планируем бегство. Каждый понедельник и среду я стараюсь обогатить свою жизнь морским бризом. Выход из ситуации это конечно же – вдохновленное морем тематика. Как насчет геометрических полос и принтов?  Давайте сделаем наши будни с морским  твистом !!! С этой мыслью я ободрилась и вышла на красивую прогулку в парк Валентино наслаждаясь древним фонтаном и удивительной архитектурой.
