For me he is really special adventurer cos of his hunger for more and pure honest towards everything!!! And never stop on way , there is so many opportunities for the one who keep their eyes open)))

Sharp tongue photographer , likened Marilyn Monroe to a naïve child playing at being an adult.

After working with her in 1956, he wrote: “She walks like an undulating basilisk, scorching everything in her path but the rosemary bushes.

“Her voice, of stroking affection, has the sensuality of silk or velvet.

“All photos it is the exact copy, but any isn’t the truth” Richard Avedon

Не знаю, как и когда я узнала о работах Ричарда Аведона, но могу сказать точно, что увидела и влюбилась. Меня поразили его простые лаконичные портреты на белом фоне, без каких либо лишних деталь, ничто нас те отвлекает от главного героя фотографии. Все просто и очень сложно.

Сначала Аведон утверждал, что портрет – это обоюдная игра модели и фотографа, позже – «…теперь я понимаю, что вся власть у меня в руках».

Ричард Аведон родился в Нью-Йорке 15 мая 1923 года. Его предки эмигрировали из России в конце 19-го века, и русская тема тонко прослеживалась в его огромном фотонаследии. Начиная с того, что первой моделью маленького фотографа Ричарда был его сосед, великий русский композитор Сергей Рахманинов.

Успех к Аведону пришел вместе с его фотосессией для журнала Harper’s Bazaar, когда из «продуманных» и безликих студий фотограф вытаскивает моделей на пляж, он снимает их босыми, играющими в чехарду, проваливающимися в песок по самые щиколотки их красивых длинных ног.
Его необычный и страстный подход к съёмкам нравился не всем, но совершенно точно не оставлял никого равнодушным.

За свою карьеру Ричард Аведон успел сделать портреты многих мировых знаменитостей: от Чарли Чаплина до супермоделей начала 90-х.

I don’t know how and when I have got to know about Richard Avedon’s works, but I can precisely tell that when i saw it I fell in love. I was stroked by its simple laconic portraits on a white background, without any superfluous details, anything that distracts us from the main character of the photo. Everything is simple and very difficult.

At first Avedon claimed that the portrait is a mutual game of model and the photographer, later – “… now I understand that all power in my hands”.

Richard Avedon was born in New York on May 15, 1923. His ancestors emigrated from Russia at the end of the 19th century, and the Russian subject is thin was traced in its huge photoheritage. It start from his neighbor, the great Russian composer Sergey Rachmaninov was the first model of the little photographer.

The success to Avedon came together with his photoshoot for the Harper’s Bazaar magazine when from the “thought-over” and faceless studios the photographer pulls out models on a beach, he removes their barefoot, playing the leapfrog, failing in sand on the ankles of their beautiful long legs.

Its unusual and passionate approach to shootings was pleasant not to all, but absolutely precisely didn’t leave anybody coldblooded.
For the career Richard Avedon managed to make portraits of many world celebrities: from Charlie Chaplin to supermodels of the beginning of the 90th.
